Susan’s heartfelt intention is to help her clients remember their wholeness. She specializes in assisting individuals to understand their core stories and to see how these stories can negatively impact their health, their relationships, their happiness, and their ability to fulfill their life’s purpose. She offers concrete ways to help people let go of thoughts and perceptions that prevent them from living a life filled with love, peace, and joy.
As children our egos are formed in order to get our needs met. In childhood, the ego tries to protect us, to help us get the love that we need and want. As a result we stop acting from our true self and form a false self from which we begin to operate. This false self can take different forms, such as “people pleaser”, “good boy/good girl”, or the “victim”. Although the ego helps us avoid disapproval when we are children, in adulthood it makes us continue to act from a place of fear and falsehood. The ego thus denies the full expression of our being. It robs us of our authenticity. It lodges itself at the forefront of our subconscious and dictates many of our behaviors and our life choices, usually keeping us trapped in smaller versions of ourselves. Understanding our ego allows us to begin to lessen its power over us, thereby enabling us to feel integrated and whole.
