Yoga Nidra means “The Sleep of the Yogi” or wakeful sleep.
Guided meditation and visualization bring participants to a state of deep relaxation which can minimize the stress, anxiety, and fatigue brought on by our busy lives.
Yoga Nidra is typically found/experienced within the fifth limb of yoga, pratyahara: withdrawal from the senses.
Energy flows throughout Yoga Nidra; attention is brought to every part of the body and mind. Participants are neither fully asleep nor fully awake, but in a state where the conscious mind is deeply relaxed. Yoga Nidra can lead to increased balance, awareness, and clarity.
